Visitor Centre

Located at 153 Old Surrey Road on the quiet hilltop of Havenview in Burnie, the distillery sits on the original Hellyers Road that once crept through the Emu Valley. Open daily from 10:00 to 16:30, (except some public holidays), offering a superb restaurant and breath taking views across the Emu Valley. Please note the visitor centre will close early November 16th at 2pm.

40 minute drive from Devonport (Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal)

90 minute drive from Launceston

3.5 hour drive from Hobart

Visitors can enjoy a fully interpreted tour of the distillery (our famous Whisky Walk) to find out the fascinating origins behind the brand and learn how Hellyers Road crafts its award-winning single malt whiskies. Inviting you behind the scenes to learn about Tasmania’s famous ''Secret Still'', we also provide guests with the opportunity to pour, wax and seal their very own bottle of our limited edition and highly sought after Hellyers Road Distiller’s Choice whisky - complete with Certificate of Authenticity and entry in to the Hellyers Road Bottle Register.

Our Visitor Centre received international recognition in 2018, being inducted as

an ICON OF WHISKY into the Whisky Hall of Fame.

So, even if you are not a whisky lover, a visit to Hellyers Road Distillery is a fascinating experience and insight into how one of the world’s most unique distilleries and emerging whisky brands hones its craft.

COVID-19 update: Due to the everchanging impacts of Covid-19, we are unable to host any visitors who are required by law to be in quarantine and/or that have recognisable symptoms. If symptoms arise after your visit or a member of your party are identified as a ‘close contact’, you must endeavour to notify Hellyers Road Distillery as soon as possible.

Hellyers Road is a working distillery and licensed premise to serve alcohol. As such, all minors must however be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times and are the sole responsibility of that person.

Our restaurant, facilities and distillery tour is fully wheelchair accessible.
