New Release: 10 Year Old Oloroso De Jerez Single Malt Whisky

Hellyers Road Distillery proudly presents the newest release in the fully matured Sherry Cask portfolio - Our Award-winning 10 Year Old Oloroso de Jerez Single Malt Whisky.

This sherry cask single malt was matured for 10 years in traditional 250 litre Oloroso casks from Jerez (Spain) and represents the oldest fully matured sherry cask whisky known to be released by any Australian distillery to date and continues Hellyers Road’s legacy of producing sherry cask whiskies of incredible distinction and quality.

Tasting Notes

Nose
An inviting and layered nose with prominent notes of toffee, treacle, orange zest, ginger snaps, stewed apricots, brioche, caramel, clove. Hints of rich, dark chocolate and honey-glazed walnut aromas with subtle nutmeg and a touch of sweet vanilla.

Palate
Full-bodied and smooth, offering a luxurious mouthfeel. Rich, sweet caramel, stewed fruits and sherry notes are woven between subtle nuttiness and balanced treacle sweetness. Very smooth, satin like transition across the palate. Rich and elegant. Incredible balance throughout. 

Finish
This whisky exhibits the hallmarks of incredible sophistication. Richness, smoothness and depth of character are all in perfect balance, with echoes of the dried fruits, dark chocolate and honey, offering lingering sweetness. Hints of caramel and stewed fruits add a secondary wave of complexity. 
 

Colour
A vibrant showcase of hues that straddle rich Russet Muscat and honey 

This exceptional whisky is elegantly presented in a white-framed presentation box, beautifully adorned with a map of North West Tasmania.

This Oloroso de Jerez 10-year-old release is a small batch marriage of carefully selected casks from 2014. Hellyers Road Distillery is in the enviable position of having the foresight to lay down our new make spirit in a significant parcel of these exceptional casks from Jerez in Spain for full maturation.
