Whisky Magazine Reviews
Whisky Magazine in the UK has been through the Hellyers Road range, and the scores are in. Five single malts were tasted and the results landed between 7.8 and 8.3. Here are the key comments from each dram:
American Oak 20 Years Old, Single Cask #4253.04 (8.3)
A rounded, full, and rich whisky overflowing with fruity spice that takes hold of the tongue and doesn’t let go.
Oloroso de Jerez 10 Years Old (8.2)
A real powerhouse of a whisky — this took my palate by surprise and I loved it.
The Iberian 10 Years Old (8.0)
The nose was more demure than the ferocious palate, but all around a lot of fun.
Peated 7 Years Old (8.0)
A nice little whisky, though perhaps a bit young given the zippiness on the palate.
The Journeyman 8 Years Old (7.8)
Definitely unique but a bit challenging — one to analyse rather than a gentle sipper.
