Giant Ash
22 Year Old Banyuls Cask Finish
As a valued member of Australia's most exclusive whisky club, the 21 Club, you enjoy unrivalled access to 21 exceptional bottlings of our oldest and rarest whiskies - each a distinctive piece of Australian whisky history.
This month, we are delighted to offer you exclusive access to 21 Club Release No.09 - Giant Ash.
The Cask
Giant Ash spent its last two years in a fortified wine cask from Banyuls AOC, another key dessert wine appellation in the Languedoc-Roussillon region on the border with Spain and Andorra.
Banyuls, made from grenache noir, is made in the Vin Doux Naturel (VDN) style by adding grape spirit to stop fermentation (at about 8%), preserving natural grape sugars for sweetness, resulting in rich, sweet wines.

Giant Ash
Each of our 21 Club releases has featured a Tasmanian endemic rainforest tree, species that are unique, beautiful and brought to life in the drawings of Inti Callaghan on the labels of the 21 Club whiskies.
For this release, we chose the tall, beautiful and mighty Giant Ash (Eucalyptus regnans).
Giant Ash, the tallest flowering plant in the world, towers over Tasmania’s forests with silver trunks and vast crowns that evoke both grandeur and serenity, reminding us of timescales far beyond a human lifetime.
Known as the mother of the forest, these trees are the tallest flowering plants in the world and have dominated Tasmania’s wet sclerophyll forests for millennia.
This treasured release will come with a Certificate of Authenticity, a note from the artist Inti Callaghan and a postcard sized version of Inti's beautiful artwork.
