21 Year Old Peated Cask Finish Wins “Best Australian Single Malt” at World Whiskies Awards 2025

We are excited to announce that yesterday in London, our 21 Year Old Peated Cask Finish won Best Australian Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards.

The World Whiskies Awards are the most respected global awards recognising fine whisky. With more than 200 expert judges globally, blind judging thousands of whiskies from all over the world, a win such as this is the ultimate recognition of quality. The World Whiskies Awards follows a two-stage judging process. In January 2025, category winners were announced for Australian whiskies, with Hellyers Road securing top titles in several categories. These winners were then re-judged in March 2025, where National and Global winners were determined. Hellyers Road 21 Year Old Peated Cask Finish 20F05c01 was recognised as the Best Australian Single Malt Whisky after competing against other outstanding Australian whiskies.

Our Hellyers Road Peated 21 Year Old Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky was the standout expression in this year’s competition, reinforcing our distillery’s position as the leader in fine Australian whisky craftsmanship. This recognition builds upon the distillery’s impressive collection of accolades earlier this year, including 4 Gold Medals, 3 Category Wins, and numerous other honours.

Hellyers Road 21 Year Old Peated Cask Finish 20F05c01 is an exceptional expression of Australian whisky. It is matured for 17 years in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a secondary maturation for 4 years in our own freshly tipped 2004 richly peated cask, allowing the whisky to develop a remarkable depth of flavour.
