At our distillery, the Journeyman program brings in whisky makers and specialists from around the world for six months at a time. They live and work on site, sharing knowledge, learning from our team, and seeing whisky and Tasmania through fresh eyes.
It’s about honest exchange of ideas, methods, and perspectives. And the whisky that carries its name reflects that same spirit.
The Journeyman spent its first years in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before an extended maturation in fine old Australian Tawny casks. It’s eight years old - balanced, layered, and shaped by time, place and people from more than one corner of the world.
A whisky made with open minds and good hands.
Nose - Ginger snaps and baking spice, layered with buttery fruit toast. Hints of tobacco and sandalwood add depth.
Palate - Red delicious toffee apples and fresh plums preserved in syrup. Dark chocolate and medjool dates intertwine, while oak tannins provide balance against a rich dark fruit backdrop.
Finish - A complex dram with well-balanced warmth across the palate and a lingering, satisfying finish.
